In January 2017, the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (ETA) awarded Maher & Maher a new 5-year, $30 million blanket purchase agreement (BPA) to provide the agency with continued technical assistance and training support to advance the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The BPA opens tremendous opportunity for any office within ETA to quickly and easily engage Maher’s services in a broad array of technical assistance, training and outreach activities, including needs assessments, facilitation services, federal staff and grantee training, in-person and virtual events, performance coaching and subject matter expertise, peer learning, toolkits and guides, disseminating lessons learned, and accelerating the adoption of evidence-based practices.
The BPA is advantageous for federal staff because it allows access to Maher services directly – without the need for competitive proposals. This saves ETA staff time and money by expediting the procurement process and tapping needed technical assistance promptly – when and where it is needed.
“Maher & Maher is honored to be a trusted partner to ETA for the last two decades,” said Rebecca Livingston, Director of the company’s Federal Workforce Solutions practice. “We have built a talented team that is committed to bringing the Agency leading edge thinking and effective technical assistance approaches to help transform the public workforce system, particularly during this time of significant transition.”
Maher & Maher has successfully supported many of ETA’s high-profile initiatives such as strengthening state, regional and local sector strategies; expanding Registered Apprenticeship into new industries and occupations; supporting the Workforce Innovations Fund (WIF) grantees as they pilot and evaluate interventions; leading the Office of Job Corps Student Centered Design initiative to refocus on student success through the use of design thinking; and supporting over 150 individual technical assistance projects for ETA’s six regional offices under a contract with the Office of Regional Management. This new BPA allows ETA the opportunity to renew Maher’s support for this important work, as well as expand their support to new initiatives.
“Building a talent pipeline to support business growth now and in the future, is more important than ever and this BPA will allow us to continue our partnership with ETA in this critical work.” said Richard D. Maher, President. “This is the second major technical assistance vehicle awarded to Maher & Maher by ETA in the last year. When you deliver value for your client, they want to keep coming back – and that is our best measure of success as a firm.”
