Case Study: Wireless Partnership – Accelerated New Product Launch
 

The Challenge

One of the nation’s largest cable providers entered into a partnership with a leading wireless telecommunications company to bundle wireless services with their existing video, telephone and Internet service offerings. 

We were engaged to identify training needs and design a training curriculum, as well as a supporting mentorship program, that would prepare employees to support all aspects of this new product launch within an aggressive time frame.

The Solution

Maher & Maher was selected to be the organizational change agent for the deployment of a comprehensive training curriculum to support the launch of a new cutting edge wireless phone service, resulting in the first bundled offering of video, voice, Internet and wireless services in the cable industry.

A project team including analysts, consultants, project management, and instructional designers was established to facilitate meetings between the partners and help determine the best and most efficient processes for launching the new product.

One of the critical outcomes of these meetings was a training curriculum plan that included product and equipment orientation, sales and order entry processes, and billing and customer support.

Once the training development was complete, a beta program delivery was closely monitored to identify process and program improvements. This information was used as guidance to make modifications to the training curriculum before the enterprise-wide deployment.

As an end result, the training curriculum provided an effective foundation that helped both partners successfully introduce the product nationwide – on time and within budget.
