Analyst, Workforce Development (Position Located in Washington DC Metro Area)

Analysts at Maher & Maher play an important role in helping implement workforce development initiatives across the country. They work on projects with federal agencies that develop and deliver varied and innovative outreach, technical assistance, and training solutions for clients. These solutions include change management strategies, coaching and facilitation, technical assistance resources, online learning platforms, web-based training, and in-person events. 

Maher & Maher’s projects focus on a range of topics, such as youth programs, sector strategies, career pathways, and others, that are critical to workforce development today. The individual filling this position will primarily work on a project with the U.S. Department of Labor to help states expand apprenticeship programs.

Analysts have a wide-range of responsibilities that include supporting virtual and in-person events, such as training webinars, peer learning exchanges, and conferences; assisting with the development of technical assistance resources, such as guides, webpages, and fact sheets; conducting research and managing content for on-line communities of practice; developing expertise in subject matter areas relevant to project topics; coordinating and participating in team and client meetings; and managing project plans and activities.

Requirements

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 2 years of professional work experience, preferably related to the workforce development, education, economic development, or human services fields. 
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Experience with consulting or working with client-based projects is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrated ability to express complex ideas clearly.
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Excellent people skills with a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to mange work on multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including the capability to be flexible to meet project priorities.
  • Desire to learn new things and apply the latest trends and technologies to your work.

Location:

Candidate must be located within commuting distance of downtown Washington, D.C.
