Anthony Adkisson is a Consultant on the Maher & Maher Apprenticeship team working on national projects. Anthony comes to Maher with 20 years of combined experience in workforce development and the health and human services field.
Prior to joining Maher, Anthony was the Senior Manager of Program Services for Towards Employments, a community-based workforce development organization in Cleveland, Ohio. In this leadership role, he implemented a career pathways program that combined case management, training, career coaching, and other wraparound services to help adults reentering society from incarceration. Through his prior work, Anthony also brings experience in youth programs, pre-apprenticeship and work-based learning, curriculum development, performance metrics, and management of federal-funded grants. Anthony was also the Director of Education for the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland, and served 6 years as a Trainer and Manager of Education for Planned Parenthood of Northeast Ohio.
He holds a BA in Psychology and African Studies from the Ohio State University and a M.Ed. in Adult Education from Cleveland State University. Anthony completed his doctorate in Urban Education – Adult, Continuing & Higher Education at Cleveland State University in 2016.
