Christy Montgomery-Jones has over 10 years of experience in workforce development and government administration. Christy is a skilled facilitator and takes great pride in offering innovative workforce solutions to customers for both Maher’s Federal & State/Regional practices. She brings a breadth of knowledge engaging partners in strategic planning to achieve program and system alignment of workforce development, economic development and education across states and regions. Her subject matter expertise also includes customer (human) centered design, career pathways development, adult and youth degree completion initiatives, sector strategies, employer engagement, and policy development.
Since joining Maher & Maher in 2015, she has served as the senior analyst for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Implementation and Technical Assistance initiative with the U.S. Department of Labor. She has led two projects which were highlighted by the White House for ETA’s Customer Centered Design National Challenge, coaching more than 160 local teams in “design thinking” principles. She works with the Maher Team in an advisory role on Job Corps’ national Student Centered Design project. Her facilitation and coaching skills have assisted the State/Regional workforce practice on projects in Illinois, Missouri, South Carolina and Arkansas.
Prior to joining Maher, she served as director of a state workforce investment board. She has served as program manager of state and local strategic planning, Workforce Investment Act (WIA) youth programs, and within the Rapid Response/Dislocated Worker unit.
Christy holds a Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University, and a Bachelors of Arts in International Studies from the University of Memphis.
