Sara Melton is the Assistant Project Manager supporting workforce development initiatives with the U.S. Department of Labor. Sara is responsible for managing project day-to-day details and supporting the Project Manager. Sara’s expertise lies in evaluating the project’s progress and ensuring the project scope, schedule, cost estimates, and budget meet performance standards.
Since joining Maher & Maher in 2015, Sara has played an assistant project manager role for our projects in the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration’s (ETA): Office of Regional Management (ORM) – Technical Assistance; Office of Apprenticeship (OA) – Registered Apprenticeship & Supporting Apprenticeship Expansion, Industry Sectors Engagement, and Apprenticeship USA Grantees Technical Assistance; and the Office of Job Corps (OJC).
Before joining Maher & Maher, Sara worked with a non-profit providing educational programming to underserved communities throughout the US and Puerto Rico. She has extensive experience managing afterschool STEM, literacy, and college access programs. She was an Environmental Educator and Small Enterprise Developer for the US Peace Corps in Cape Verde, West Africa. While in the Peace Corps she worked with the Ministry of Agriculture and municipal government on workforce development and management capacity.
Sara holds a BS in Wildlife & Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University and is a Certified Associate in Project Management.
