Susan has more than 30 years of experience with workforce systems. During her tenure with Maher & Maher as Senior Consultant, she has supported the U.S. Department of Labor with several initiatives and has assisted regions, states and local systems to attain their workforce goals. Her key areas of expertise include distilling complex information into clear, easy-to-follow summaries and developing concise tools and resources that serve as road maps guiding implementation of policy initiatives.
Prior to joining Maher & Maher, Susan served as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Georgia Department of Labor. Milestones in that position included providing detailed research and support for Georgia’s implementation of the Workforce Investment Act, coordinating development of federal workforce plans, successfully developing and managing several national and state discretionary grants, serving as staff to the Governor’s Job Training Council, and partnering with other agencies on policy issues and initiatives. Susan holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Washington College in Maryland. She is also a Certified Grant Writer and a meticulous editor. Susan joyfully resides in sunny Florida.
