Terri brings to projects over 25 years of quality professional workforce development and education experience. Since joining the Maher & Maher team in 2014, she has served as a Lead for the Office of Regional Management Real-Time Technical Assistance initiative; Coach for the Customer Centered Design initiative; Senior Subject Matter Expert for WIOA Technical Assistance projects; Senior Analyst for Registered Apprenticeship; and Project Manager for the WIOA Work-Based Learning project. Federal Service includes seven years with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA) in Atlanta as a Federal Project Officer. Terri distinguished herself through specialization in Expanding Business Engagement, Career Pathways, and Governance (board leadership development included a sector strategies approach for solutions to workforce challenges).
Terri’s hallmark is excellence and innovation. An example is the resoundingly successful regional Business Services Summits (2011 & 2013). As co-lead, brought together the workforce system, business, economic development and education, resulting in meaningful advanced employer engagement strategies. Emphasizing sector strategies initiatives in targeted growth sectors of Energy, Healthcare and Advanced Manufacturing proved key. Approximately 400 participants from over a 12 state area reaped the benefits of this world-class event and are now implementing cutting-edge practices. Coaching speakers assured delivery of a cohesive theme.
Before joining the Department of Labor, Terri held a gubernatorial appointment to the Nebraska State Workforce Investment Board. She also managed the ASVAB Career Exploration Program (a comprehensive career decision-making and guidance program) for the Department of Defense and oversaw this program in 31 states.
Terri is a master facilitator and has been a frequent presenter at state, regional, and national events. She holds a M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and has made significant professional contributions through a variety of volunteer leadership activities, including those with the American Counseling Association, the National Career Development Association, and the Association for Career and Technical Education.
