October 3, 2012 - Windsor Castle, UK – On October 15-16, 2012, Richard D. (“Rick”) Maher, President & CEO of Maher & Maher, a firm focused on helping organizations make strategic investments to develop their most valuable asset "their people" will be joining leaders from around the globe on the historic grounds of Windsor Castle to consider the most critical challenges facing regional economies throughout the developed world. Sponsored by St. George’s House of Windsor Castle in collaboration with Future IQ Partners, the meeting is structured as a consultation entitled “Building Sustainable Regional Communities in Today’s World.”
Mr. Maher will address the Consultation in his remarks entitled “The Future Regional Workforce: How do we build agile and adaptive workforces that are able to respond to the emerging economic trends and opportunities?” He will also join leaders in considering innovative practices that can be leveraged in responding to regional economic and workforce development challenges around the globe.
“I am very much looking forward to the work at Windsor Castle,” said Maher. “Uncertainty and change is the global ‘new normal’ that threatens the economic, social, and even political stability of communities. Today and in the future, human capital may just be our most important form of competitive currency. This consultancy is timed perfectly to begin to consider how regional talent systems need to adapt to meet the challenge head on.”
The Windsor Castle consultation will draw together renowned practitioners, decision makers, and academics from Europe, North America, and Australia to explore the challenges facing regions in competing within the global economy. By linking expertise from across the globe, solutions for key regional strategies can emerge. Sponsors plan to publish these strategies in a White Paper following the event.
About the Program Sponsors
St. George’s House was founded in 1966 by H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh and the then Dean of Windsor, Robin Woods, as a place where people of influence and responsibility in every area of society can come together to explore and communicate their views and analysis of contemporary issues. The Duke of Edinburgh believes that, as the College is hidden away within the Castle walls, it is particularly suitable to attract people in positions of leadership within government, industry, commerce, and the churches as a place for discrete discussions of mutual and national interest.
Future IQ Partners work across the world to build vibrant regional economies, sustainable industry, great destinations, and productive community development. They have helped regions across the world flourish by building networks of expertise and unique tools that focus on developing long-term agility and sustainability.
